Senior Development Engineer, Electronics
Danfoss Drives is looking for a Development Engineer, Electronics to join our professional Product Development Center team. This is a great opportunity for you to be one of the design experts of Danfoss Drives R&D where we engineer the frequency converters of tomorrow. This position is going to be located either in Tampere or Vaasa, Finland.
If you take the challenge as our new Development Engineer in Electronics, you will be part of an experienced and dedicated team with the responsibility of the technical design of AC drives produced in our factories globally. Through your quality design, you will have the opportunity to make sure that our products maintain a very high quality and fulfil customer expectations on features and cost.
You will be working with numerous product variants and options, using different technologies in a dynamic working atmosphere. To be successful in this position, you need to have close co-operation internally with other electronics designers, project team members and other interfaces such as Validation, Sourcing, Project office and Subcontractors. Furthermore, key tasks will be:
- Circuit boards architectural, schematics and layout design
- Timely delivery of specifications, designs, prototypes and documentation
- PCBA test specification creation and prototype verification
Background & Skills
To succeed in this position, you have a relevant degree (B.Sc. or M.Sc.) within analog or digital electronics. We expect you to have a strong experience with high voltage switch-mode power supplies, as well as experience with FPGA / MCU based control electronics design and you know how to consider EMC and reliability. We also appreciate if you have experience of designing functional safety related products, have good knowledge of Design Tools such as Cadence software and circuit simulation tools and have experience in designing PCB layouts. A good command of both Finnish and English language skills is required, and AC drives knowledge is an asset.
In addition, you are good at prioritizing tasks, can work in groups as well as individually, and can solve tasks from an idea to final implementation. You have a holistic and global mindset and are resilient with the ability to deal with complexity. You are a fast learner with the ability to adapt to changes quickly, while also having the patience to complete even the smallest details. You have professional curiosity, which you use to acquire new knowledge and find alternative solutions.
